It comprises an impressive variety of Sea Caves to discover along the sheer cliff face. This includes one of the most remarkable natural Sea Caves you will ever have the pleasure of entering in a kayak.

THE HOOK PENINSULA

Based in Fethard On Sea on the stunning Hook Peninsula, a natural and beautiful outcrop of rugged land. The Peninsula jolts out off the southwest Wexford coast in the Celtic Sea. We have a diverse mix of magnificent natural landscapes, such as beautiful beaches, hidden sandy coves, tall, rugged rocky cliffs, and limestone slabs that reach out of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Hook Peninsula is famous for its Epic Coasteering Experience and is home to the oldest operational lighthouse in the world! (800+ Years). The Hook Lighthouse stands proudly at Hook Head, completely intact, and looks magnificent for miles. With stunning sights and scenes of epic drama in days of old, the place is also steeped in epic history and stories of destruction that you must hear from us! Today it is one of the Irish coast’s most beautiful and genuinely peaceful areas.

You will receive a confirmation email within minutes, if not, please make sure to check your spam folder and mark us as “safe” as you will also receive an important reminder email. On your bank statement it will say “Trekksoft/AGTheIrishExperience” or sometimes shortened by the bank to “Trekksoft”.
When should I arrive?
You should check-in at least 30 minutes before your tour start-time at our Booking Office (Eircode: Y34P778, the big green building on the corner, you won't miss it!). Please be prepared to wait for people checking in ahead of you.
What is the starting location?
After check-in at our Booking Office you will then drive yourself the short distance to Baginbun Beach. Here you will get changed into your wetsuit and meet your guide at the tour start time. There is parking available in the village for check-in and at Baginbun Beach where you launch from.
Do I need to be able to swim?
No, you do not need to be able to swim to join one of our kayaking experiences. You will always be provided with a buoyancy aid, which will keep you afloat if you are in the water and a guide will always be near to help you back into your kayak, although our sit-on top kayaks are extremely stable – especially our double XL kayaks.
Do I need prior kayaking experience?
Not at all, our experiences are suitable for all, ranging from people who have never kayaked before to experienced kayakers.
Is there a minimum age?
The minimum age for our Sea Cave Kayaking Experience is 12 y/o and the minimum age for a single kayak is 16 y/o. When sharing a double kayak at least one of the participants has to be minimum age 16y/o.
Are there weight or height restrictions?
There is a maximum weight limit for our kayaking experiences. The maximum weight limit for our single kayaks is approximately 125kg / 20 stone and the combined total weight restriction for our double XL kayaks is approximately 190kg / 30 stone. There are no height restrictions.
Should we choose a double or a single kayak?
Our double XL kayaks are by far the most popular kayak, as they are the most stable and you can share the paddling together. Please note: Our guides will always be in their own kayaks and cannot share a kayak with any guests or their children.
Why can I not select more than 1 single kayak?
At weekends and during the summertime only double kayaks are available, with the exception (where possible) for solo travelers or odd numbered groups.
Do minimum numbers apply for the experience to go ahead?
Yes, a minimum of 6 participants must be booked in for this experience to go ahead. If this is not the case we will be in touch to reschedule.
Do we always get into the cave / caves?
There is no guarantee that you will enter a cave by kayak, the route is dictated by marine conditions at the time of your tour. For sea kayaking, there are many factors to take into account, conditions change quickly at sea. Ensuring the group's safety is priority. Your guide will determine the best route and actions to take at that specific time based on their ongoing risk assessment. Rest assured that you will be given the best adventure possible at the time
